Annie Laura Englert, 92, of Jackson died August 30, 2021. Annie was born April 17, 1929 to Oscar Howard and Carol Mosley Johnson. She was a member of Visitation Catholic Church in Jackson until it closed after which she attended Sacred Heart in Grove Hill. Annie greeted each day on the deck with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise. She worked for 40+ years at Vanity Fair and was a fan of the University of Alabama Football. She loved cooking for her family and friends, working in her yard and visiting the beach.
Annie is survived by her children, Cynthia (Mirko) Pezent of Jackson, Craig (Linda) Englert of Jackson, and Tabitha (Greg) Mays of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sister, Gladys Scurlock of Millry; grandchildren, Shane Pezent, Chad Pezent, Scott Pezent, Jered Englert, Jordan Englert, Jeff Mays and Kristin Mays; 6 great grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Englert and sister, Martha Pezent.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish in Grove Hill with Rev. Travis Burnett, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Shane Pezent, Chad Pezent, Scott Pezent, Jered Englert, Jordan Englert, Ethan Pezent and Kristin Mays.
Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Reeves, Gene Etheredge, Gail Garris, Patricia Smith, Mike Kunz and the staff of The Meadows.
