Annie Ruth Spence Hoven, 66, of Jackson, passed away January 20, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. She was born November 14, 1952 to Q.P. and Jeannie Brunson Spence in Elba. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Grove Hill but had been a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson. She enjoyed hunting, camping, taking cruises and displaying her large collection of Christmas decorations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carrol Spence and stepson, Charles Anthony Hoven.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Hoven; children, Jennifer (Glenn) Smith, Mitchell (Deanna) Hoven, Charlie (John) Henderson; step-children, Kenneth Dale Hoven, Kimberly (David) Thomas; grandchildren, Emily (Daniel) Mairet, Chelsey Hoven, Chesney (Coleman) Wilkerson, Noah (Elizabeth) Smith, Harley Henderson, Kasey Hoven, Jorja Henderson, Toni Henderson; step-granddaughter, Faith Hall; great-grandchildren, Alanna Mairet, Carson Mairet, Ava Mairet; siblings, Francis (Bobby) Darley, Jim (Pat) Spence, Bill Spence, Kay (Paul) Craft, Mickey (Diana) Spence, Penny (Larry) Jones and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Stave Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Jackson and David Webb officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson and then again, an hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow the service at Stave Creek Baptist Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Jim Bob Spence, Michael Spence, William Spence, Jeremy Mauldin, Gary Mauldin, Cory Mitchum, Shane Shaw, Scott Shaw and Eduardo Cortez.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Jackson Locker Plant and members of Calvary Baptist Church.
