Annie Motes

Annie Mae Motes, 80, of Jackson, passed away February 8, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 28, 1936 to Drury Columbus "Lum" Wade and Amelia Vastie Bradley Wade. She was a loving and devoted servant to her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren even fulfilling the duties of being a mother to her grandchildren, James "Bo" Motes and Jason Motes.



She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Chalmas Wade, Curtis Edward Wade, Carlton Clayton Wade, Sr., Elroy Wade, Sr. and Geraldine Wade Sullivan.



She is survived by her husband, James Samuel Motes of Jackson; children, James Richard (Jeanie) Motes, Sr. of Tyler, William Lamar (Angie) Motes of Jackson, Gary Jenkins (Sandra) Motes of Salitpa, Mary Ann (Clay, Sr.) Motes Ready of Jackson; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson with the Rev. Chris Giles officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday night at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



Pallbearers will be Norman Clay "Tarzan" Ready, Jr., Robin Dewayne "Vito" Ready, Elroy Wade, Jr., Eddie Claudine Wood, Jr., James Edward Wade, Carlton Clayton "Carl" Wade, Jr., Christopher Harris and Paul Criswell.
