Arthur Jenks

Arthur Ray Jenks, 65, of Grove Hill, passed away September 2, 2017 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born February 22, 1952 in Atmore to Arthur and Audie Mae Jenks. A 1970 graduate of Jackson High School, he married Willodean Jenks on June 6, 1970. The couple lived in Grove Hill and he was an insurance salesman for many years. He also enjoyed working for Western Auto in his younger years. He was a member of Tompkins Baptist Church and loved hunting, fishing and Alabama football.


He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Smith and granddaughter, Kimberly Presnall.


He is survived by his wife; children, Art (Sue) Jenks, Diane (Bobby) Presnall, Steven (Rebekah) Jenks; grandchildren, Candace Presnall, Robbie Presnall, Daniel Presnall, Caleb Jenks, Mary Katherine Jenks and Olivia Grace Jenks.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday September 6, 2017 at Tompkins Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Dr. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.


Pallbearers will be Jeramy Allday, Jason Allday, Amon Walker, Rob Morgan, James Bell, Patrick Wright, Jonathan Smothers, Justin Stephenson and Mark Cagle.


Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Pettis, Marty Gardner, Elma Averett, Don Wright, Randy Hare, Nick Steadham, Keith Newton, Kevin Averett, Matthew Dunegan, Tyler Dunegan, Johnny Murphy, Donnie Savage, Ward Edge and Marvin Smith.
