Ashlea Cherie Singleton, 47, of Chatom died August 8, 2021. Ashlea was born December 18, 1973 to Charles and Audrey Singleton. After graduating Washington County High School in 1992, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Art degree in History with a minor in Spanish from the University of South Alabama, as well as her Master of Education from the University of West Alabama. She returned to Chatom where she was a museum curator at the Washington County History Museum. She was a proud, life-long resident of Chatom, AL, the county seat of her beloved Washington County!
Ashlea is survived by her parents; siblings, Sondra and Larry West, and Chad Singleton; nephews, Casey and Christiane West, Gavin West and Peyton West, great niece, Carrington West; great nephew, Carter West, and double first cousins, Luke Singleton and Leslie Threadgill. Her surviving aunts, uncles and cousins are too numerous to list, although she could proudly name them all!
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mack and Bessie Singleton and Perry and Jean Dearmon.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Reynolds Holiness Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the service begins at 4:00 pm with Rev. Troy Bailey and Rev. Larry West officiating. Lathan Funeral Home will be directing the services. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Casey West, Gavin West, Peyton West, Luke Singleton, Jonathan Johnson and Larry West.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her Sunday School children as well as Mr. Wayne Blackwell and the members of the Washington County History Museum Board.
