Barbara Ella Garrick, 85, formerly of Scyrene, passed away, Friday, January 1, 2021 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home in Monroeville. She was born in Vredenburg on July 30, 1935 to James E. Bradford and Maggie Rigney Bradford. She had been employed as the manager of the Scotch Lumber Company Camp and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Scyrene. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony Garrick; sister, Mary B. Hall and infant brother, William.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Jackie) Garrick, Robin (Charlie) Rawls; grandchildren, Kristi Stoker, Jason (Maggie) Garrick, Jeff (Krista) Garrick; great-grandchildren, Morgan Stoker, Mary Ruth Garrick, Sam Garrick, Jacob Garrick; great, great-grandchild, Mary Bradford Carrington; brother, James Elsworth (Beverly) Bradford and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Harvey Hutto officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Heath Hall will be providing music. The family will visit with friends in the cemetery for one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Jason Garrick, Jeff Garrick, Sam Garrick, Ike Mozingo, Ricky Manchester, Joe Milstead and Chad Bradford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scotch families and Harrigan Lumber Company.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.
