Barbara Mathews

Barbara Mathews, 77, of Jackson, passed away June 27, 2018 at USA Medical Center in Mobile. She was born January 6, 1941 to J.C. and Grace Odom in Jackson. A member of McCann's Chapel United Methodist Church in Jackson, she was a very dedicated and loyal employee of Merchant's Bank where she retired after 36 years of service as Assistant Vice-President and Operations Manager. She was also a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother spending valuable hours attending their numerous activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Mathews.
She is survived by her daughters, Leigh Anne (Renny) Reeves, Laurie Watson; grandchildren, Addie (Logan) Powell, Sydney (Colby) Leonard, Emily Bullard and sister, Sharon (Steve) Laster.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Tony Weaver officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Steve Laster, Renny Reeves, Colby Leonard, Jim Reid and Logan Powell.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 1000, Dept, 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
