Betty Cannon

April 7, 1936 — July 1, 2017

Betty Jean Brewer Cannon, 81, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017. Betty was born April 7, 1936, to George Alma Brewer and Maggie Elrod Brewer, and resided most of her life in McIntosh, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents and eleven siblings.





She was a member of McIntosh United Methodist Church. She retired from Searcy Hospital where she served as a Dental Assistant. She loved to read, worked tirelessly at fund-raising for her kid's schools, and was a member of the McIntosh Rescue Squad for twenty years, as well as serving with the CIBA CAP Team for ten years.





Survivors include her son Rick (Gwen) Cannon of Mobile, AL, her daughter Becky (Bob) Dunnavant of Saraland, AL, a grandson Jeremy (Heather Marie) Cannon, three granddaughters, Heather Courtney, Hope (Doug) Toenes, Amanda (Scott) Corley, four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Amelia, Eli, and Cameron, and extended family, Rob (Mindy) Dunnavant, Doug (Dana) Dunnavant, Paul (Caryn) Mattison, Robert Courtney, Trisha, Bobby, Alexis, Tanner, Tristan, Lincoln, and Jessa, and a host of nieces and nephews.





Visitation will be at McIntosh United Methodist Church at 11am on Thursday, July 6, 2017, with the funeral service at noon, and interment immediately following.
