Betty Gahlinger

Betty J. Gahlinger, 77, of Jackson, passed away July 20, 2017 at Mobile Infirmary. She was born April 20, 1940 to Hubert and Mary Ann Miller. A retired teacher with the Clarke County Board of Education, she was also a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, Eastern Star and the Jackson Women's Club. She enjoyed cooking, art, spending time with family and travel.



She was preceded in death by her parents.



She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Gahlinger of Jackson; daughters, Terri McHargue of Jackson, Tracy Gahlinger of Birmingham; grandsons, Mitch McHargue of Auburn, Miller McHargue of Illinois and brother, Richard (Faye) Miller of Guston, KY.



Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Dr. Ben Stubblefield and Rev. Brian Jemison officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lathan Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



Pallbearers will be Mitch McHargue, Miller McHargue, Harry Hamilton, Walter Looper, Troy Spence, George Bradley, Charlie Etheridge and Joe Carpenter.
