Betty Lamberth

January 8, 1940 — November 22, 2022

Betty Jane Carpenter Lamberth Gaynor, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born January 8, 1940 to James Marvin Sr. and Clara Jane Carpenter of Millry, AL. A devoted Christian, Betty was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She had been employed at Delchamps Corporate Office for many years. Betty was an active member of the Common Sense Campaign and she advocated for her Christian values, moral values, protection of the unborn (The Women's Resource Center), and the freedom and safety of our country. Never one to sit idle, she had many interests including running (she ran 5 marathons and countless other races), gardening (she loved her flowers and homegrown vegetables), gospel music, and cooking for her friends, family, and church family. Her cakes, homemade bread and other specialties were frequently requested for special occasions by those fortunate enough to have enjoyed her cooking and baked goods. Above all, Betty loved her dear family who will greatly miss her.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Roy. S. Lamberth as well as her parents and brother, Buster Carpenter.

She is survived by her husband, Ron Gaynor; children, Bryan (Sherri) Lamberth and Rhonda (Jeremy) Collings; grandchildren, Brooke (Mathew) Koenig, Morgan (Chris) Henry, Gavin Lamberth, Carson Lamberth and Jacob Collings; great grandchildren, Adley Koenig, Perrin Koenig, Rory Koenig and Hartley Henry. She married Ron Gaynor in 2013 and gained additional family members: children, Christopher (Kimberly) Gaynor and Melody (Seth) Leesburg; grandchildren, Brody Gaynor, Aiden Gaynor, Anniston Gaynor, Nate Skoretz, Sara Skoretz and Gabe Skoretz.
