Betty Joyce Allday Pugh, 80, of Coffeeville, passed away May 26, 2019 at her residence. She was born November 3, 1938 to Leslie Allday and Addie Ray Brooks Allday. An active member of Ulcanush Baptist Church, she had also been a member of the Coffeeville Ladies Sewing Club and a supporter of “Almost Home,” a temporary home for children in Grove Hill. She had been employed at Vanity Fair and GOCO, and she had served as a librarian at the original Coffeeville Library.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burnard Pugh and brothers, Billy Allday and Jimmy Allday.
She is survived by her children, Darrell Pugh, Dwight (Angela) Pugh; grandchildren, Tiffany Pugh, Noah Pugh and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on May 28, 2019 at Ulcanush Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Griffith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Brian Long, Craig Milstead, Charles Brooks, Timothy Hodge, Bruce Mathers and Stacey Dunagan.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Coffeeville Ladies Sewing Club and members the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class at Ulcanush Baptist Church.
