Billy Coaker

Billy Joe Coaker, 74, a resident of Chatom, AL passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Mobile Infirmary. Mr. Coaker was born on February 24, 1941 to Newt Moore Coaker and Alma Marie Hartley Coaker. He worked as a bus shop foreman with the Washington County Board of Education for 13 years. Mr. Coaker was a member of South Oak Grove Baptist Church in Fruitdale, AL. Preceding him in death were his parents, Newt and Alma Coaker, brother, Charles Arthur Coaker and sisters, Nora Bell Kelley and Audrey Dukes. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra M. Coaker of Chatom, AL; 2 sons, Tommy J. (Anjeanette) Coaker of Beaumont, MS and Rob (Kim) Coaker of Chatom, AL; 2 brothers, Norman Coaker of Chatom, AL and Kenneth W. (Ethel) Coaker of Fruitdale, AL; 4 grandchildren, Whitney Coaker, Jalin Coaker, MaKaylee Coaker and Laiken Coaker; and his dear lap dog, Ruby "Roo Roo" Coaker. The family will receive friends at South Oak Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until the 12 PM service time with Pastor Norman Turner and Mr. Odell Morris officiating. Burial will follow immediately in Grace Williams Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Greg Coaker, Chris Coaker, Anthony Waite, Keith Waite, Mike Davidson, Eugene Davidson, Steven Brumbaugh and Bo Roney. Honorary pallbearers will be Jock Allday, Gerald Everett, Gavin Scarbrough, Floyd Spotts, Shawn Hartley, James Coaker, Ella Mason, Roxanne Bonner, Carrie Harmon, Barbara Carpenter and his late friends who met him in Heaven, Zach Denson, James Hill and Joe Lee Hill.
