Carey Presnall

November 24, 1936 — October 30, 2017

Carey Gene "Pete" Presnall, 80, of Whatley, passed away October 30, 2017 at Jackson Medical Center. He was born November 24, 1936 to Gavin and Jeanette Presnall. The owner of P&R Electrical, he had numerous other interests including hunting, fishing and Alabama Crimson Tide and New Orleans Saints football team. He loved cooking and always wanted his guests to have plenty to eat. He proudly boasted that he taught both of his wives to cook. He was also a member of the Dirty Dozen Hunting Club and a charter member of The Armadillo Gourmet Society where he shared his talent for cooking rattlesnake.



He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Frances Joan Presnall and siblings, Elizabeth Courtney and Marie Cone.



He is survived by his wife, Lynda Howell Presnall; children, Darlene (Mickey) Arnold, Beverly (Britt) Wilson, Michelle (Bennie Cole) Smith, Rebecca (Oca) Rodriguez, Amanda (Dale) Jordan; grandchildren, Wesley (Dana) Arnold, Ashley Arnold, Austin Wilson, Brittany Wilson, Kayla Smith, Matthew Rodriguez, Lauren (Christian) Ramirez, Dylan Jordan, Daniel Jordan; great-grandchildren, Grayson Beck, Lillian Ramirez; sisters-in-law, Renee (Phillip) Presley and Joyce Rouse and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



A graveside service will be conducted at Amity Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 with the Rev. Holden Smith officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service in the church.
