Carl Pope

Carl Bryant “Bubba” Pope, 51, of Calvert, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at Covenant Care Hospice in Mobile. He was born January 5, 1968 to Tee Vee Pope and Estelle Johnson Pope. A man of many talents, he had been employed as a diesel mechanic and in the construction industry. He had also been a beekeeper and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ronnie Joe Pope, Dwain Pope, Brenda Dueitt, Faye Grantham and David Stockman.

He is survived by his children, Joseph (Ashleigh) Pope, Joshua Pope; grandchildren, Nataleigh Pope, Remington Pope, Kambreigh Pope; mother of his children, Paulette Byrd; siblings, Larry Stockman, Jim Stockman, Jean Johnson and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Ken Davis officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service on Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Lou Hill, James “Rip” Dueitt, Kameron Turner, Marcus Davis, Jessie Taylor and Tommy Etheredge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Powell and Jeff Trawick.
