Cecil Morgan

Cecil G. Morgan, 84, a resident of Whatley, AL passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home. Mr. Morgan was born on September 22, 1930 in Allen, AL to the late Madison M. Morgan and Dollie G. West. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. When he came out of the service he was a Corporal. He was a chip operator at Boise Cascade and retired after 32 years. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Douglas "Red" Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Clara Morgan of Whatley, AL; 6 children, Geri (Dan) Finney of Reform, AL, Kathy (David) Roberts of Thomasville, AL, Deborah (Lavaughn) Fendley of Fulton, AL, Sharon (Joe) Wilson of Thomasville, AL, Rick (Terri) Morgan of Pontiac, MI and Steven (Noreen) Morgan of Sonoma, CA; 3 sisters, Mary Frances Carrow Of Lapeer, MI, Eloise Keeth of Lake Orion, MI and Barbara Danner of Saucier, MS; 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 12PM-1PM at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill, AL followed by a 1PM funeral service with Bro. Keith Johnson and Bro. Dan Finney officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe Wilson, Walter Wilson, David Williams, Kiefer Thornhill, Donald Joe Bradford and Lance Foster.
