Charles Parnell

Charles William Parnell, 88, of Tibbie, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his residence. He was born on August 19, 1933. He was a much-loved husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all of his family. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served four years with the Seabees on active duty and another four as an active reserve. He retired from Ciba Geigy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Parnell, Ada Louise Parnell; wife of 56 years, Doris Howard Parnell; children, Sherry Lynn Parnell, Charles Parnell, Jr., an infant daughter and siblings, Vivian Nader, Myrtle Lundy and Lee Parnell.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dora Parnell of Daphne, Terry Parnell of Tibbie, Cynthia (Randy) Reid of Tibbie, Rebecca (Joel) Teel of Fairhope, Will Parnell of Tibbie, Jason Parnell of Tibbie; grandchildren, Erin Chestang, Amy Chestang, Phillip Reid, Megann (Russell) Carlisle, Zane Teel; great-grandchildren, Tollen Chandler, Tavin Chandler, Tayson Cannon, Dax Cannon, Elijah Chestang, Reid Carlisle; brothers, Richard (Connie) Parnell, Don Parnell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Fairhope Baptist Church in Tibbie with the Revs. Doug Price and Larry Darden officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service in the church.
Pallbearers will be Russell Carlisle, Tavin Chandler, Tollen Chandler, Will Parnell, Phillip Reid and Zane Teel.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Megan Carpenter and Dr. Steve Donald for the excellent care provided as well as the nurses of Kare In Home Hospice, Kristin Kroodsman, Angie Phillips, Katelyn, Nancy, Nicki Coxwell and Ashley Hyatt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Baxter, Jimmy Moss and Roger Sheffield.
