Charles Emile "Bo" Stadtlander, 87, of Jackson, passed away December 28, 2016 at his home. He was born May 18, 1929 to Fritz and Sally Stadlander.He graduated with honors from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, having served as president of the honor fraternity, Pi Tau Sigma. He also advanced through the Executive Board of TAPPI (Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry) to include finishing as President.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and active in military service from 1948 to 1959 including deployment in Germany after WWII during the occupation of Europe as an Army MP. He also served as a company officer in the National Guard in Jonesboro, Louisiana after returning home.
He had a long and successful career in the paper industry and retired from Boise Cascade in Jackson as production manager. He remained active, happy and busy in his retirement years enjoying global travel, woodwork, construction and desk building.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 32 years, Maude Helen Vail Stadtlander. He and his wife were natives of Louisiana and residents of Jackson for many years.
He is survived by his children, Lawrence Scott Stadtlander of Atlanta, Georgia, RoxAnne (Jimmy) Nicholson of Fairhope; granddaughter, Emily Helen Nicholson of Birmingham and his companion and friend of many years, Leah Gay Smith of Jackson.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church of Jackson with the Rev. Alan Gantzhorn officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
