Christina Waddill

Christina Caroline Waddill, 94, of Jackson passed away April 10, 2022 at Jackson Medical Center. She was born December 30, 1927 in Farrell, Pennsylvania to parents Frank and Rose Puzzutti Catalano.

Mrs. Waddill loved to sew and enjoyed helping teach her craft at Walker Springs Road Baptist Church. Cristina had a green thumb, and it showed, she loved tending to her garden and flowers, and enjoyed handcrafting crosses to share with the people she loved. She loved her church family and enjoyed teaching Sunday school classes and vacation bible school.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Waddill Jr., son, John Waddill III, grandson, David Gadson Smith, and great granddaughter, Crista Smith. Son in law, Terrel Smith. Sisters, Yolanda Papuga, and Josie Criner, brothers, Frank Catalano Jr., Carmen Catalano, John Ross, and Jimmy Ross.

Survived by her children, Rose Ann Smith, Darlene (Joe) Smith, Herbert (Annette) Waddill, Frank (Patsy) Waddill, and Michael (Bonita) Waddill. Brother, Angelo R. (Gina) Catalano. 13 Grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren. Daughter in law, Susan Waddill, and many other nieces and nephews, and loving friends.

Pallbearers are Nick Waddill, John N. Waddill IV, Gadson Smith, Donovan Smith, John Richard James, Wyman Lawson. Honorary pallbearers are the Adult 3 Sunday School members at St. Stephens Frist Baptist Church, Jean Stempien, Gill and Ginger Thomas and family, Alfred and Margaret Marks, and Sherry Moseley.

Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. on April 12, 2022 at St. Stephens First Baptist Church with a viewing from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Bros. Drexel Copeland and Chesford Carr officiating with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
