Clara Lee Robinson Carpenter, 70, of Millry, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Mobile on December 3, 1950 to Lee Robinson and Clara Howard. A member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, she had taught Sunday School and GA's for many years. She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her devoted children, grandchildren and extended family as well as her beloved Yorkie, "Belle." Attending bluegrass festivals was a favorite activity and she served her community as a poll worker for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard (Barbara) Robinson.
She is survived by her husband, Willie H. Carpenter; children, Shane (Suzanne) Carpenter, Tracey Carpenter, Maria (Derrick Wheeler) O'Neal; grandchildren, Tyler (Hannah) Dykes, Taylor (Jared) Carter, Ashton (Hal Edwards) Dunnam, Justin Dunnam, Zoey Claire Carpenter-Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Kyndal Carter, Korbyn Carter, Amelia Dykes; siblings, identical twin sister, Clarice (Dale) Carpenter, Jo Ann Singleton, Wanda Singleton, Debbie (William "Buddy") Tate; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Millry with the Revs. Travis Agee, Scotty Carpenter and Greg Morris officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Todd Carpenter, Jared Carter, Justin Dunnam, Tyler Dykes, Chad Foster and Cory Waters.
