Clarence 'Jim' Watters

Clarence 'Jim' James Watters Jr., 66, passed away on June 27, 2024, at University Hospital in Mobile. He was born on September 12, 1957, in Grove Hill to parents Judge Clarence and Hester Smith Watters. Jim served in the Air Force where he traveled to many destinations. He was medically retired in 1990 and returned to Alabama.

Preceded in death by his parents Judge Clarence and Hester Watters and sister Vicki Hawkins.

Survived by his wife of 35 years Shirley Watters, daughter Sarah, future son-in-law Matthew Brownlee, sister Veda Watters, and brother-in-law Clarence Hawkins. Niece Hannah Hawkins, nephew Joseph (Carmen) Hawkins, nieces Maura Hawkins, Ruby Cotten, Lila Cotten, nephew James Hawkins, and many loving friends and extended family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Waters, Paul Waters, Nathaniel Waters, Jamie Dunigan, Jimmie Knight, and Mike McCollough.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 10:30 am at the Watters Family Cemetery on Matthews Cemetery Road in Grove Hill with Bro. Tony Meinhardt officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Online condolences may be shared at www.lathanfuneralhome.com
