Clarence Cecil Shaw, 81, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Jackson Medical Center in Jackson, Alabama. He was born January, 17, 1942, in Columbus, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Lee Shaw, his mother, Lillian Inez McClain, and his wife Donna Kay Shaw.
He is survived by two sons, Scott Shaw and Shane (Kimberly) Shaw, of Jackson; one grandson, Jake (Samantha) Shaw of Jackson; three granddaughters, Katelyn (Andrew) Chesser of Jackson; Jessica Leigh (Jasin Stewart) Shaw of Mobile; Taylor (Cody) Norton of Atmore; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judy Worsham of Silas, Alabama.
Clarence proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 until 1976, during which time he was stationed in Texas, California, Greenland, Florida, South Carolina, England, and South Vietnam.
After being discharged, he attended vocational trade school and studied refrigeration. He was a member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and the NRA (National Rifle Association).
Clarence enjoyed hunting and spending time with his beloved family. He was a faithful member and deacon of Evergreen Baptist Church.
Services are on Tuesday, January 9, at Evergreen Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 10 until the 11 a.m. service. Pastor John David Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Jake Shaw, Andrew Chesser, Jasin Stewart, Cody Norton, Mark Overstreet, Josh Few, and Trey Brantley.
