Clayton Franklin "Frank" Kight, 77, of Leroy, passed away August 21, 2017 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born March 8, 1940 to Dolphus and Allie Kight. He received numerous sales and service awards during his career in insurance that spanned more than 30 years. A devoted family man, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and other family members and was known as a man who enjoyed helping others, often spearheading fundraising events for the Make-A-Wish foundation. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Leroy where he was enrolled in the Adult 3 Sunday School Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dorman Lane Kight.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Kight; children, Susan Kight Armbrecht, Roger Lane (Karen) Kight; grandchildren, Allie Grace Armbrecht, Lane Kight, Ann Marie Kight; brother, Joe Roger (Dianna) Kight and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Leroy with the Revs. Dave Delegal and Chris Giles officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church of Leroy new cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home officiating.
Pallbearers will be William G. Carter, Kay Hawkins, Doug Sullivan, Larry Wiggins, John Maherg, Stan Etheridge and Mark Kirkham.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Adult 3 Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Leroy.
