Cynthia Gayle Callaway Marshall, 63, of Gainestown, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on September 16, 1956 to Elba Callaway and Josie M. Stephens Callaway in Fulton. A member of Jones Chapel Methodist Protestant Church in Gainestown, she had been employed as a technical operator at Boise Cascade. She had previously been employed as a bus driver and substitute teacher with the Clarke County Board of Education. She especially enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, but her other hobbies included hunting, fishing, raising flowers, embroidery and searching for Indian artifacts, especially arrowheads.
She was preceded in death by her father and siblings, Kathy Jo Wright and Elba Callaway, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Marshall; mother, Josie M. Callaway; children, Ben Marshall, Mandi (John) Skinner; grandchildren, Samantha (Jake) Shaw, Carly Marshall, Amber Marshall, Jesse Marshall, Austin Marshall, Cheyenne Skinner, John Skinner, Jr.; great-grandchildren, JoAnna Shaw, Luke Shaw, Tatum Dees; siblings, Margaret Ann Holbrook, Perry Lee (Ginger) Callaway, Sherrill Bailey; mother-in-law, Nettie Mae Marshall and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Jones Chapel Cemetery in Gainestown with Bros. Wayne Jones and Benny Crawford officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Derek Callaway, Damon Callaway, Louie Overstreet, Butch Perkins, Charles Turberville and Ricky Mashall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bonnie Ray Overstreet, David Newton, Mike Corsey, Susan Perkins, Peggy Overstreet and Valerie Creagh.
In lieu of flowers, donation in her memory may be made to the Mitchell Cancer Center, 1660 Springhill Ave., Mobile, AL 33604.
