Daniel Gordon Jr.

Daniel Webster Gordon, Jr., 73, of Jackson, passed away February 5, 2017 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born May 31, 1943 to Daniel Webster Gordon, Sr. and Ruth Koen Gordon in Waynesboro, Mississippi. He was a member of Leroy Baptist Church. An avid hunter, he was especially fond of turkey hunting but would go in search of deer as well. He also loved gardening and frequently shared the fruits of his labor, along with a good conversation, with his friends and neighbors.



He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patsy Ruth Gordon and first wife, Faye Gordon.



He is survived by his wife, Ronda Bradley Gordon; daughters, Tanya (Kane) Etheredge, Deborah (Tommy) Sheffield and Jennifer (Tre') Rowland and grandchildren, Leea Sullivan, Wade Sullivan, Abby-Faye Sullivan, Georgia Sheffield, Bess Sheffield, Tori Rowland, Ty Rowland, Juliana Abston, Kaylee Abston, John Clayton Abston and Cade Abston.



Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Leroy Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Delegal and Bill Dortch officiating. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Peniel Baptist Church in Jackson with Lathan Funeral Home directing.



Pallbearers will be Blake McLendon, Gerry McLendon, Paul Criswell, Billy Rone, Jake Faust and Larry Walker.
