David Boykin

David Lee Boykin, 65, of Jackson, passed away January 3, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Mobile following an extended illness. He was born December 18, 1951 to Richard Ainsworth (Dick) Boykin, Sr. and Beppie Waldman Boykin.



He was preceded in death by his parents and was the grandson of the late congressman, Frank W. Boykin.



He is survived by his children, David Lee Boykin, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Charles Richard (Melanie) Boykin of Mobile, Leesa (Dr. William Wesley) Hollowell of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Amelia Gale Boykin, Laura Casey Boykin, both of Mobile, William Basil Boykin, Charlotte Lee Boykin, both of Huntsville, Jane Gaston Hollowell, Mary Neal Hollowell, William Wesley Hollowell, Jr. of Tuscaloosa and lifelong friend, Eddie Nader Saraland.



The family will receive friends at Latham Funeral Home in Jackson, Alabama, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 7.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association in Alabama, 1678 Montgomery Highway, Suite 104-355, Birmingham, AL 35216.



Active pallbearers will be Walt Nader, Trey Nader, Keith Bolen, Dane Daugherty, Johnny Atchison, Kenny Harrell, David Millstead and Chris Johnson.
