Rev. David E. Guy Sr.

Rev. David Earl Guy Sr., 72, of Jackson, passed on January 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on July 11, 1952, in Stateline, MS, to parents James Guy and Francis Allday Bradley. He worked and retired from Brown & Root Construction with close to 30 years of employment with them, with his career it gave him the opportunity to travel all over the United States. In his younger years on his days off, you would find him in the woods hunting or on the river fishing. But most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially with his grand and great grands. He loved the Lord more than anything.

Survived by wife Jane R. Guy, daughter Kathy (Rev. Larry) Sullivan, son David Earl (Elizabeth) Guy Jr., honorary daughter Jennifer (Dallas) Sullivan, three granddaughters Rebecca (Collin) Dunagan, Kaylee Guy, Caroline Guy, 2 honorary grandsons Timothy (Tad) Loper and Waylon Loper, 2 great grandchildren Ava Jane, and Colton. Two brothers Rev. George Guy, and Allen Guy and one sister Jewel (Danny)Fleming.

Preceded in death by Father James Edward Guy, Mother Frances Bradley, Step-Father Elvin Bradley, Daughter Rebecca Jane Guy, Brothers Blane Guy and Jake Guy Sr.

Pallbearers will be Jake Guy Jr., Chad Fleming, Les Graves, Kevin Fuller, Bryan Roberts, and Will O'Gwynn. Honorary Pallbearers Stan Johnson, John Hodge, Mel Stacey, Arthur Mitchel, Jeff Hutcheson, Kieth Autry, Mike Kendrick, Jessica Luker and Lee Tindel.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Larry Sullivan and Bro. Wesley Hicks officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. burial will be at Jones Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery in Coffeeville immediately following the service.
