David Eugene McLean, 71, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born in Grove Hill on August 1, 1950 to Lloyd McLean and Wilda Mae Duke McLean. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had been employed with NAPA Auto Parts and was a passionate fan of the University of Alabama football team. He adored his family and loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren's sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry McLean.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Counselman McLean; children, Vickie McLean (Robbie) Dailey, David Anthony (Natasha) McLean, Tammy McLean (Chris) Suggs; grandchildren, Lacey (Jake) Kiracofe, Wesley McCorkel, Bob (Carla) Dailey, Maggie (Jesse) Pope, Braylon McLean, Breyona McLean, Oakley McLean, Makayla McLean; great-grandchildren, Gauge Patrick, Levi Kiracofe, Jacob Kiracofe, Dillon Roberts, Katelei Roberts, Alexis Roberts, Charlie Pope; siblings, Martha (Robert) Hutto, Maxine Presnall, Donald (Margie) McLean and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Fred Odom officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Smith Cemetery on Zimco Road with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Mike Anderson, Kenny Counselman, Phillip Counselman, Jared "Buck" Jones, Adam McLean, Calvin Rockwell, Jeff Sellers and Kenny Smith.
