Diana Sue Williams DuFriend died peacefully at home on Friday, August 3, 2024 at the age of 73. Diana was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Elkhart, Indiana on May 6, 1951 to Fredirck Richard Williams and Evelyn Maxine Robison. She was raised in Arizona where she met and married Jim. Diana worked alongside Jim in ministry in the U.S., Germany, Australia, and Trinidad as well as several short-term mission trips to Ecuador. Their theme in ministry has always been: "May all who come behind us find us faithful." Diana had a successful career in community mental helath as a therapist; she loved everyone she worked with.
Diana is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jim DuFriend; sons, Jonathan (Jennifer) DuFriend and Jason (Ashley) DuFriend; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Leavins; brothers, Fred (Jacquelyn) Williams Jr, Steve (Linds) Williams, Tom Tuten, Daniel (Rhondi) Tuten and Mark (Lee) Tuten; as well as several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson and Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Jackson. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Ralph Wooten officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
