Dianne Andrews

Dianne B. Andrews, 79, of Grove Hill, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at her residence in the Chilton Community. She was born in Salitpa on Sunday, July 12, 1942, to Howard Rick Blackmon and Hester Stokes Blackmon. A faithful member of Chilton Baptist Church, she had taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and also served as the church treasurer. She had been employed as a florist at a number of local floral establishments, most recently at Petal Pusher in Grove Hill. She was, in fact, a plant enthusiast and also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Other interests included reading, especially Louis Lamour novels and historical fiction. She was a Scrabble expert and was a Facebook fanatic, especially the game "Gardens of Time." She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 63 years, Fletcher O'Neal Andrews.
She is survived by her children, Greg (Sharon) Andrews, Libby A. (Ron) Cumlander, Charlotte A. Parker, Scott (Ursula) Andrews; grandchildren, Vince (Jessica) Andrews, Jake (Savanna) Andrews, Katie C. (Jonathan) Braswell, Thomas C. Andrews, Kyle Cumlander, Lydia A. McBroom, Sam Tyler, Claire Tyler, Dennis N. Andrews; great-grandchildren, Adaline McBroom, Harper Andrews, Ellie Andrews, Gabe McBroom, Coley Andrews, Julia A. Braswell, Sophie Andrews, Fletcher Andrews, Emma Braswell; siblings, Marcie (Gary) McDonald, Solomon "Bubba" Blackmon, William "Ricky" Blackmon and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Chilton Baptist Church with Ron Cumlander and Rev. William Gibbons officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Smith Cemetery in Chilton with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Vince Andrews, Kyle Cumlander, Glen Elmore, Jeremy Henson, Sam Tyler and Jonathan Woods.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Andrews, Ralph Gunter, Thomas Pyles and Matt Meymore.
While flowers are welcome, donations in her memory may be made to the Building Fund at Chilton Baptist Church, 6365 Chilton Road, Grove Hill, AL 36451.
