Dixie Wilson Goodwin, 75, of Grove Hill, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Zimco on Saturday November 23, 1946. A member of Grove Hill Baptist Church, she had taught a children's Sunday School class and Training Union class as well as Vacation Bible School. She was a homemaker who devoted herself to the care of her family. She enjoyed attending the ball games of her children and grandchildren, crossword puzzles and tending her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kirvin C. Wilson, Annie Mae Walker Wilson; husband, James Reginald Goodwin and sister, Sue (Rayford) Guy.
She is survived by her children, Tracey (Nick) Walker, Tammy (Jay) Brasell, Terri (Steve) Carpenter; grandchildren, Wesley (Jennalee) Goodwin, Taylor (Brooke) Carpenter, Tyler (Heather) Walker, Abbey (Larry) Haag, Wil Brasell, Hannah Walker, Carly Carpenter, Whitney Brasell; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Goodwin, Allie Hope Goodwin, Ada Grace Leonard; sister, Golda (Perry) Harrison and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Grove Hill Baptist Church with Drs. Kyle Routzahn and Randy Boone officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the church on Monday, February 28, 2022. Interment will follow the service at Union Baptist Cemetery in Grove Hill with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Wil Brasell, Taylor Carpenter, Wesley Goodwin, Jason Guy, Larry Haag, Matt Harrison, Colby Leonard and Tyler Walker.
