Don Nichols

Don Nichols, 72, of Jackson passed away on July 27, 2023. Don was born on January 26, 1951, to his parents, Grady and Ernestine Nichols in Walker Springs where he lived the majority of his life.

Don was one of the founding clients of CCARC (ARC of Clarke). At the ARC, Don learned to cane chairs and became very skilled and talented at the craft. Don also learned how to cross stitch and furthered his gifted passion for painting. Don's personality seemed to blossom at the ARC. He loved singing and dancing with his classmates; he often led the singing and played the harmonica at the center. Don was a bright light in this world. He was a quiet, humble and friendly individual who loved life and his family and friends. Don will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Don is survived by his siblings; Gradine Simpson (Robert), Gloria Anderson, Phil Nichols, Gerald Nichols (Brenda) and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Grady and Ernestine Nichols; siblings, Grady Gaines Nichols, Ernest Willard Nichols, and Hurbert Russell Nichols; brother-in-law, Clyde "Andy" Anderson; and sisters-in-law, Louise Nichols and Saundra Nichols.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
