Donald Knowles

Donald E. Knowles, 71, of Jackson, passed away January 1, 2018 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1946 to Edward and Florine Knowles. A forester with Resource Management, he was also a member of Walker Springs Road Baptist Church. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also a master craftsman, building clocks, swings, rockers, baskets and numerous other wood products.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Paul Knowles and Wayne Knowles.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Yvonne Knowles; children Eunice Elizabeth (Rodger K.) Alford, Donald Arnes Knowles; grandchildren, Leah Alexis Alford, Kaitlin Elizabeth Huggins and siblings, Jean Knowles, Raybon Knowles, Edmund Knowles and Edward Knowles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Walker Springs Baptist Road Church with the Revs. David Webb and Cathy Reed officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Knowles, Tommy Knowles, Brandon Knowles, Mallie Reed, Marcus Knowles, Josh Fuller, Daniel Reed and Brad Chancey.
Honorary pallbearers will the Raybon Knowles, Edmund Knowles and Edward Knowles.
