Doris Manning

Doris Jeanette Manning, 87, of Grove Hill, passed away on October 12, 2022 at Providence Hospital Covenant Care in Mobile with her sister and niece by her side. Doris was born on December 2, 1934 in the Perry's Chapel community to Jesse Roy and Bertie Louise Bazzel Anderson. Doris ventured off early in life and enjoyed working in office environments so she could dress up, she was very confident of herself and had a successful career allowing her to shop and travel often. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, shopping, and 'Alabama' parties and celebratory shopping afterwards with her sisters. She cherished her favorite nieces Taryn, Josie, and Layla Blue and their times at the "Beauty Parlor" dressing up and doing makeovers.
Preceded in death by her husband Lindsey Manning, daughter Doris Renee Manning, sisters Louise A. Hill, Joyce A. Parnell, Eugenia A. Clark, and brothers Kenneth Anderson, Roy Nolan Anderson.
Survived by her sisters Kathryn (Danny) Lee of Grove Hill, Marie Sheffield of Grove Hill, Judy Busby of St. Stephens, brother Leo (Karen) Anderson of Eureka Landing, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and many loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Brent Gilchrist, Terry Glidewell, Chad Busby, Danny Lee, Jeremy Johnson, Thomas Coxwell, Ross Wood, and Bryan Hill. Honorary Pallbearers are Shelia Anderson, Nita Smith, Cecelia Pogue, Debbie Ogle, Yvonne Bush, Edwina Foster and Melissa Overstreet.
Funeral services will be at 3 pm on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with a visitation one hour prior to services. Rev. Digger Creel and Bro. Ray Anderson officiating.
