Dorothy Clarke

Dorothy Louise McLendon Clarke, 88, of Grove Hill, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at Jackson Healthcare Facility. She was born August 21, 1930 to Emmett and Leslie McLendon. A pastor's wife of many years, she was devoted to the care of her family and the churches where they served. She was considered a role model by many because of her quiet, conservative manner. She enjoyed the household chores of running a home and travelling with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Barbara Joyce Clarke Wilson.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Charles Percy Clarke; son, Charles Warren Clarke; four grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers; numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with the Revs. Charles Percy Clarke and Leon Harrison officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Town Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Nick Zorn, Chris Clarke, Ricky Harrell, Murphy Clarke, Rev. Warren Huggins and Marc Bennett.
