Dorothy Laton

Dorothy Louise Laton, 84, of Chatom, passed away October 23, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 15, 1933 to Henry and Irene Carpenter. A homemaker, she loved working in her yard, especially with the flower beds.


She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 66 years, John Franklin Laton, Jr.


She is survived by her children, Johnny Brent (Sandra) Laton, Linda Lou Laton; brother, Carlton (Carolyn) Carpenter; niece, Diane (Norvelle) Jones; sister-in-law, Carol Carpenter and caretaker, Verneitta Pough Kirksey.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Laton Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Rickey Revette and Leland James officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.


Pallbearers will be Drew Reynolds, Don Laton, Stacy Carpenter, Steve Burton, Travis Loper and Buddy Reynolds.
