Dovie Weaver

August 4, 1950 — August 7, 2022

Dovie Jean Byrd-Weaver was born August 4, 1950, to Clifford and Mary Agnes Byrd in Stapleton, Alabama where she was raised along with her nine siblings. In 1965 she married Bill Weaver Sr. and became a resident of McIntosh. There they started their family and raised five children in a home filled with love and joy, despite whatever hard ships in life would bring. During these years of marriage, motherhood, and homemaking she also found great pleasure in interests such as arts and crafts, and gardening. She even spent time as a teacher's aide at McIntosh High School.
After the passing of her husband, Jean moved to the Gautier, Mississippi area with her daughter, Johanna where she spent the remainder of her life until her passing on August 7, 2022.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Mary Agnes Weaver, and her husband Bill Weaver Sr., sisters Mary Pearl, Juanita, Joyce, Jewel, Julier, and Jane, brothers Clifford Donald, Dale, and James, sons Preston Weaver and Bill Weaver Jr.
She is survived by her daughters Roxanne, Johanna, and Jennifer, twelve grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many other nieces and nephews, and loved ones.
Dovie Jean leaves a legacy of a strong faith in God and our Lord Jesus Christ, as well as love and service for all the lives she touched. She gave birth to five children, but the number of people she "mothered" and cared for are too numerous to count. The void her passing has created is certain to be impactful in all of our lives, and she will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Fields, Michael Weaver Jr., Tyler Lang, Craig Lang, Josh Allen, and Chester Reed.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Reed's Chapel in McIntosh with a visitation starting at 1:30 pm. Bro Jerry Waite officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
