D.P. Lee, 85, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Jackson Medical Center. He was born January 6, 1934 to Tommy and Mary Lee. An avid outdoorsman, he was a retired land management officer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for more than 20 years, including during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Frank Lee, Cecil Lee, Marjorene Johnson and Alline Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kiyoko “Sunshine” Lee; brother, David (Jimmie Ruth) Lee and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. John David Stewart officiating. Visitation will begin on hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Gaddis Chapel Cemetery in Jackson with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be AJ Kennedy, Kolby Powell, Elliot Quina and Tripp Quina.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be offered to the Alabama Sheriff’s Boys Ranch, 187 Ranch Circle, Danville, AL 35619.
