Dylan Ruck

Dylan Phillip Ruck, 13, of Gainestown, died Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Dylan was born December 18, 2009. Dylan was a member of Jackson First Assembly of God where he was very active in the youth group. He attended Jackson Academy where he had recently completed 7th grade and been inducted into Beta Club. Dylan, or Ricky as he was affectionately known by his class- and teammates, was a JV player for the Jackson Academy Eagle Football team where he poured his heart and soul onto the field and into his team. He was a fan of the outdoors; enjoying fishing, hunting and four-wheeler riding. Dylan also enjoyed spending a beautiful day on the river where he was lovingly known by his friends there as "DRP". Most who knew him described Dylan as "one of the good ones" or "such an amazing kid"; he was truly a generous, funny and loving soul.

Dylan is survived by his parents, Billy and Lynn Ruck; sisters, Sophie and Harper; grandparents, Marilyn Porter, Richard & Debbie Ruck, Dean & Sissie Turner and Bobby Porter; uncles & aunts, Dewayne Baugh, Bonnie Baugh, Nikki & Anthony Roberts, Meagan & Ronnie Griffin, Catelin Reed and Richie Ruck; great uncle & aunt, Jay & Debbie Bozeman; cousins, Elizabeth, Allie, Eric, Katelyn, Baylee, Hunter Misty and Ron; best friend, Jace Dearmon and mentor & friend, James Cunningham.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Jackson First Assembly of God with Pastor Kevin Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Interment will follow the service in Trinity Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will the Jackson Academy Eagles Football Team and Coaches.
