Edith Sims

Edith Marie Sims, 84, of Coffeeville, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Pineview Nursing Home in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Coffeeville on March 19, 1936 to George Bedwell and Gladys Roberts Bedwell. A member of Center Point Baptist Church in Coffeeville, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an exceptional seamstress and loved to crochet as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Edward Sims and siblings, Faye Montgomery and Edward Bedwell.

She is survived by her children, Kenny (Seleta) Sims, Gloria (Arlis) Hicks; grandchildren, Drew Hicks, Amy Hicks (Scott Pyrz), Lance Sims, Kendra Sims; great-grandchildren, Braxton Sims, Samantha Ramsey; siblings, Joyce (Frank) Myers, Jo Ann (Earl) Gibbons, Susan (Kerry) Stephens, Dan Bedwell and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. William Gibbons officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Center Point Baptist Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Drew Hicks, Lance Sims, Kelly Johnson, Len Roberts, and Ronney Johnson.
