Effie Carpenter

Alene S. Carpenter, 78, of Chatom, passed away November 22, 2015 at the Washington County Nursing Home. She was born June 3, 1937. She had been employed as a registered nurse.


She is survived by her children, Aaron (Denise) Capenter, Joni (Mike) Mazur; grandchildren, Aaron Carpenter, Keith Nichols, Leanna Nichols, Leah Mazur, Evan Mazur, Averi Mazur, and brothers, Norman Scarbrough and Wilson (Joann) Scarbrough. Preceded in death by her husband Aaron Roger Carpenter.


Pallbearers; Junior Carpenter, Trent Scarbrough, Alan Scarbrough, Jimmy Postma, William Preston, Gerald White. A graveside service was held Friday, November 27, 2015 at Springbank Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Roberson and Jim O'Neal officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
