Elaine Sheffield

Elaine McIntyre Sheffield, 67 of Chickasaw, passed away December 30, 2018 at her residence. She was born September 1, 1951 in Grove Hill. She grew up in the Pleasant Grove community and became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. After moving to Chickasaw, she was employed for many years at McConnell Motors in Mobile and had also been employed at Teledyne Continental Motors and GMAC. She was devoted mother and caretaker for her daughter, "Mandy" and enjoyed cooking and cake decorating. She was also an avid fan of Alabama football.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sheffield; father, Culvain P. McIntyre and sister, Sarah M. Pugh.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Sheffield; mother, Mildred McIntyre; brother, Jim (Jacquelyn) McIntyre; nieces and nephews, Ian (Laura) Pugh, Jessica (John) Grubbs, Ashley McIntyre, Joseph (Ashley) McIntyre and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on January 2, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Renea Henderson officiating. Visitation will begin after the service. A private interment will be at Griffin Chapel Cemetery in the Pleasant Grove community.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Sheffield, Larry Gene Sheffield, Jim Sheffield, Dewey Stokley, Albert Stokley, Jr., Gene Guy, Larry Harrell, Kenny Harrell, Keith Harrell and Bubba Wilkerson and the employees of McConnell Motors in Mobile.
