Elizabeth Ricketts

Elizabeth Wilson Ricketts, 84, born March 27, 1937, a native of Clarke County and resident of Grove Hill died June 11, 2021. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Grove Hill from early childhood after being christened in the old church in Hebron. She was an alumnus of CCHS, (Clarke County High School), a graduate and president of The Lawton School of Nursing with a two-year stint at Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma leaving with a 3.7 grade average. She spent over 40 years of diversified nursing in the medical field holding many certifications in various areas. She became a basic EMT in the first EMS class that was held in Clarke County in 1977 and remained with the EMS program until 1994. She was a CPR instructor, Red Cross and EMS volunteer in emergency/disaster situations. She worked in various ambulance services, critical care areas and held certification and training in the interpretations of cardiac rhythms and locations of myocardial damage.
She was a career Army wife that moved with her husband throughout assignments stateside and in Europe. She loved her family, profession, travels and the many friends that were made over the years in many places with various cultures.
She was preceded in death by her parents Coma Wilson, Clyde McLean Wilson and her dearly beloved only sibling, James C. Wilson. Her loss was complete when she lost her husband just short of three months and three days approaching their 63rd anniversary.
Mrs. Ricketts is a body donor as was her husband. No funeral services will be held and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity of choice, if one wishes to do so.
