Elizabeth “Betsy” Duke Walker, 84, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Crowne Health Care in Citronelle. She was born September 29, 1934 to Henry F. and Etta Waddill Duke. She had been employed for 25 years as the secretary at Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson. The youngest of twelve children, she became a family caretaker at an early age and always loved spending time with all of her family.
She was preceded in death by parents; all of her siblings, her husband, Harold Lloyd Walker and dauther-in-law, Beth Walker.
She is survived by her children, Eric Walker, Joyce (Paul) McLendon, Kenny H. (Cathy) Walker, Jan (Keven) Shaw; grandchildren, John (Leigha) McLendon, Elizabeth Walker, James (Jessica) McLendon, Banks (Trista) Walker, David (Christina) Walker, Stephen Shaw, Walker Shaw; great-grandchildren, Caleb McLendon, Luke McLendon, Bella Walker, Pryce Walker, Elizabeth McLendon, Will McLendon and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Revs. Paul McLendon and Dustin Shelander officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Liberty Baptist Church in Fulton with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be John McLendon, James McLendon, Banks Walker, Stephen Shaw, David Walker and Walker Shaw.
