Ella Henson

Ella Jo Ann Henson, 83, of Satsuma, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile. She was born in Hobson on April 21, 1937 to James William Beech and Ina Olene Howell Beech. A gifted pianist and organist, she had been a Sunday School teacher in the churches where her husband, the Rev. Dr. William Wade Henson, pastored. The last church where they pastored was West Chickasaw Baptist Church. She enjoyed raising flowers along with her husband and was an avid fan of The University of Alabama football program.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Beech.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. William Wade Henson; daughter, Lori Henson; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Revs. James M. Henson, Sr., David Henson and Dr. Gloria B. Jackson officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Janie Parker will provide music. Interment will follow the service at Jones Beech Cemetery in Hobson with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be John R. Beech, Heath Cotton, Tyler Faith, Cody Hamilton David Rhett Howell and Rusty Pace.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
