Ellen Roe

Ellen Bumpers Roe, age 83, died February 20, 2024. Ellen was born January 18, 1941 to Clyde Franklin and Sallie Motes Bumpers. She attended River Hill Baptist Church. Ellen had always enjoyed traveling, especially with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a talented lady who enjoyed many crafts such as crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Ellen was a bit of a homebody in her later years spending her weekends with family especially "the girls". She also enjoyed spending time at the Jackson Senior-Nutrition Center.

Ellen is survived by her children, Donna York (Bob), Frankie Crawford (Brandy), Tammy Norris (Barry) and FeAnna Goodrich (Gary); grandchildren, Will Crawford (Chelsey), Chris York (Heather), Michelle Crawford, Luke York, Walter Hite (Lisa), Troy Hite, Johnny Harrell (Amy) and Andrea Childree (Derrick); great grandchildren, "The Triplets" Eva, Mallie & Maddie, Brody and MaKenna and six additional great grandchildren; sister, Jane Bumpers Roberts (Charlie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Vernon Roe; and siblings, Phillip Bumpers, Louis Bumpers, Francis Bayles, Marcy Gates, and Carol Butts.

Services will be held Monday, February 26, 2024. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home, Jackson. Graveside service will be held at approximately 11:15 a.m. at River Hill Baptist Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Lewis officiating.

Active Pallbearers will be Chris York, Luke York, Will Crawford, Jason Roberts, Anthony Roberts, and Darrell Gates. Honorary pallbearer will be Cary Dodd whom Ellen affectionately referred to as "my boy".
