Eloise Thompson, 90 of Millry, passed away January 21, 2023, at her home. She was born September 28, 1932, to parents George W. and Lena Tucker Hardy. Eloise owned and operated Joe's Dinner and Joe's Grocery in Chatom and the 10 to 10 Market in Millry for many years with her husband. She loved watching Alabama football, doing crossword puzzles, and didn't miss an episode of Walker Texas Ranger. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with her family, and especially fishing for catfish.
Preceded in death by her husband Joseph Thompson Sr., parents, stepparents Tim and Irma Vaughn, and sister Connie Howard.
Survived by her children Joseph Thompson Jr., grandchildren Sarah (Adam) Shirley, Joseph David Thompson, Katie Thompson, Julia Thompson, great grandchildren Bradley Shirley, Evelyn Lee, Henry Lee, Thomas Lee, Wendy Lee, Maggie Lee, Richard Beech, and CJ Beech, brother Ray (Judy) Hardy and sister Gerri Hunter.
Pallbearers will be Jason Goldman, Ray Hardy Jr., Clarence Beech, Peewee Harvison, Joey Thompson, and Adam Shirley
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery in Millry on Wednesday January 25, 2023, with a visitation at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Bro.
