Elouise Huggins Scarbrough, 88, of Grove Hill, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Crowne Health Care of Thomasville. She was born February 12, 1933 to James Herbert Huggins and Ethel Counselman Huggins. She had been a very active member of Bassett Creek Baptist Church in Grove Hill and enjoyed outdoor activities such as bird watching and growing flowers. She was also a wonderful cook and gifted seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Lester Scarbrough and several siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra (George) Esham, Ann (Frankie) Baugh, Jean (R.D.) Tyler; grandchildren, Adam (Dana) Esham, Emily (Chris) Monahan, Amy (Jason) Barnes, Lexi Stewart, Will Stewart; great-grandchildren, Eli Esham, Oscar Esham, Finn Esham, Tucker Barnes, Miller Monahan; sister, Joyce Huggins Sheffield and numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Bassett Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Warren Shewmake officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. There will be no visitation.
Pallbearers will be Phil Andrews, Daniel Baugh, Gerald Baugh, John Daffin and Tommy Phillips.
While flowers are welcome, donations in her memory may be made to the Cemetery Fund at Bassett Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 807, Grove Hill, AL 36451.
