Emma Johnson

Emma Weaver Johnson, 93, of Hoover and formerly of St. Stephens, passed away April 10, 2018 at The Oaks of Parkwood in Bessemer. She was born May 4, 1924 to Dan and Bernice Weaver in Jackson. She was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She had also owned and operated a grocery store.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam R. Johnson and siblings, Coreen Green, Glendene Weaver, Alton Weaver, Evaughn Weaver, Evy Lee Weaver and James Weaver.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Herbert Ray) McMullen), Lynne (Jack) Henley; grandchildren, Mike (Katie ) McMullen, Misty (Kevin) Glass; great-grandchildren, Katie Glass (Tyler) Frederick, Michael Glass, Emma McMullen, Anna Claire McMullen and siblings, Dot Dunegan, Dan Weaver, Jr. and Robert Weaver.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Stephens Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Patrick officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Mike McMullen, Michael Glass, Kevin Glass, Tyler Frederick, Jack Johnson and Quincey Baros.
