Emmett Raymond Dailey, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at his residence in Fruitdale. He was born June 21, 1932. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he was retired from International Paper Company where he worked for 38 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as hunting, fishing and various other outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Washington Dailey; mother, Velma Williams Dailey; brothers, L.C. Dailey, Devon Dailey and sisters, Beullah Griffin, Mildred Hamilton and Bobbie Garlinghouse.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Betty Dailey; children, Duane (Donna) Dailey, Debra (Harvey) Lewis, Mark (Stacy) Dailey, Kevin (Connie) Dailey, Ryan (Cindy) Dailey; grandchildren, Barry (Tara) Dailey, Daniel Lewis, Amy (Brandon) Dees, Caitlin (Dirk) Turner, Megan Lewis, Kacy (Justin) Sloat, Noah Lewis; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Dailey, Gatlin Brewer, Abigail Dees, Summer Dailey, Gracie Sloat; siblings, Ronnie Owens, Faye Bosarge, Ben Owens, Jr., Marsha Everette and numerous other relative and friends.
A graveside service was conducted Friday, September 9, 2016 at Grace Williams Cemetery in Fruitdale with Dr. Robert Kirkland officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers were Barry Dailey, Daniel Lewis, Noah Lewis, Dirk Turner, Brandon Dees and Justin Sloat
