Estelle Jones

Estelle R. Jones, 89, of Jackson, passed away September 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born September 9, 1929 to John F. Rooney and Sarah Coleman Rooney in Birmingham. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, the Arc of Clarke County and the Alabama Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troy Y. Jones; son, Raleigh F. Jones and sister, Catherine Rooney.
Survivors include her daughters, Catherine Jones, Peggy Jo Jones, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Jackson with Dr. Ben Stubblefield officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be Barry Jones, John Jones, Joel Jones, Graham Braswell, Paul South and Jim Reid.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Rikard, Barry Chancey, Tom Henley and Rayford Guy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The First Baptist Church of Jackson or The Arc of Clarke County.
